This design provides full project plans to extend 53rd Avenue from its intersection with Highway 99E to Ellingson Road. It includes 6,800 feet of new roadway and a grade-separated crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad mainline tracks.
Because this design is for a completely new roadway alignment, it involved significant environmental permitting and services, including wetland delineations and planning for environmental impact mitigation.
OBEC's environmental permitting design services were provided on an accelerated schedule in order to accommodate a major industrial development on 53rd Avenue.
OBEC achieved stormwater quality treatment through the use of water quality manholes, inlet biofiltration systems, and unique central vegetated swales to collect and filter runoff before it enters existing storm sewers.
