This new water treatment plant provides the City of Coburg with its first-ever centralized sewage treatment system. Historically, each residence and business had its own septic tank and drain field. Recognizing the long-term possibility of groundwater contamination, the City coordinated efforts with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to permanently resolve the issue.
The unique facility will utilize small-diameter pressure lines to consolidate the City's wastewater for treatment at the plant. OBEC is providing engineering for all structures as the new site is developed from an empty field into a state-of-the-art facility. These include roadway and pipeline bridges to access the site, all process tanks, a steel-framed control building, and a two-story control building using masonry block design.
