69th Street: Thurston Road to B Street
Springield, Oregon
Located in a residential area in east Springfield, 69th Street is a busy urban road that connects Thurston Road to Main Street (State Highway 126) and serves as a vital route for schools, residents, and public transportation.
The roadway's substandard width and deficient storm drain facilities were becoming a problem, so OBEC designed numerous critical improvements to the area, including new bike lanes and sidewalks, storm drain improvements, and new signing, striping, and lighting.
The newly improved streetscape also features durable concrete pavement for the roadway to replace the former failing asphalt pavement.
