Completion of the pedestrian bridge over Barnett Road was the final connection needed to create an 18-mile-long, uninterrupted multi-modal route connecting Central Point and Ashland and all the cities along the Bear Creek Greenway Trail. The bridge is a 155-foot-long pre-fabricated steel truss with cast-in-place concrete approach spans and decorative railings that match the aesthetics of other bridges along the trail.
OBEC has collaborated with multiple stakeholders working for various clients since 1993 to complete eight sections of the more than 11 miles of paved trail, ten multi-use overcrossings, numerous retaining walls, parking facilities, and wetland mitigation. The greenway has become a vital link in the Rogue Valley for non-motorized commuters and recreational users alike.
