The $23 million Wilsonville-Hayesville Interchange design-build project replaced two bridges on Interstate 5 in addition to pavement preservation work on 22.2 miles of this high-speed, high-volume freeway corridor.
As a design subconsultant to Hamilton Construction Company, OBEC was responsible for the design of the new northbound and southbound bridges, as well as the temporary detour bridges and roadways that accommodated traffic during construction. OBEC was also responsible for guardrail and barrier replacement, as well as development of the construction staging and work zone traffic control plans.
The design-build team was able to complete the project on time and without any claims because of its comprehensive design quality program, innovative environmental permitting procedures, and rapid bridge reconstruction techniques.
