OBEC is assisting ODOT and the City of Oregon City with design services for Highway 213 to bring significant traffic and safety improvements to one of the state's most congested corridors. An ongoing and very proactive public information and involvement campaign will help prepare area travelers for the construction phase.
To minimize traffic impacts, OBEC is designing the project using rapid bridge construction techniques and 3D traffic staging to ensure the most efficient lane configurations throughout the project.
The scope of the project includes widening and improving intersections, adding a new roundabout and bridge, and upgrading and adding signals. A new "jughandle" roadway segment will pass under Highway 213 on a new bridge to eliminate the need for left-turns.
