This roadway paving and preservation project involved a major arterial through downtown Central Point and encompassed several project elements meant to improve roadway safety in the area.
These transportation improvements included widening Pine Street to five lanes, including bike lanes; addition of sidewalks, storm sewer, curbs, and gutters; and improving a railroad crossing. The project also reconstructed the traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 99 and Pine Street and added a new right-turn lane on Highway 99.
Because Pine Street is a vital transportation route for businesses and residents of Central Point, OBEC designed the roadway improvements in such a way as to limit impacts to traffic and ensure ease of access during construction.
