OBEC provided engineering services for the design and construction of roadway modernization of 7.6 miles of Sandlake and Galloway Road in remote and steep terrain in Tillamook County.
The new road updates the horizontal and vertical alignments to conform with current standards and includes construction of bridge rail retrofits, gabion-faced MSE retaining walls, and a rockery retaining wall. The scope also included replacement of culvert cross pipes and the design of three fish passage culverts and a stream channel realignment. OBEC's survey crews prepared right-of-way descriptions, exhibits, and field staking for construction easements and right-of-way acquisition for a staggering 92 files.
The project received WFL's award for Best Project in the area of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate for 2001.
