OBEC’s Sunrise Expressway project won “Best in Category” for transportation projects at ACEC Oregon’s Engineering Excellence Awards. OBEC received the award at ACEC’s Engineering Excellence dinner on January 18.
Sunrise Expressway is the Portland metro area’s first new highway in almost 30 years. The project goal is to reduce congestion and support regional livability and safe multimodal connectivity while enhancing economic development opportunities.
On this project, OBEC led a large multidiscipline team in the fast-track design of the project, which included 12,000 feet of new roadway, 9,500 feet of multi-use paths, three new roadway bridges, two new pedestrian bridges, and 18 retaining walls.
