Description
On-Board was tasked to perform an analysis on the existing roof of a university building to prepare for the installation of two (2) new air handling units.
The On-Board team was tasked with determining the structural validity and capacity of the roof regarding the new units and providing modifications as necessary to ensure the roof can handle their satisfactory installation.

Scope of Work
The structure within the building was very old, and the new units were larger than the existing units, requiring new steel supports to be designed.
The entire half of the building where the new units were being installed requires an analysis for structural integrity.
Challenges
Communication with the Client on a weekly (or more frequent) basis was key to this project's success.
For older buildings, existing drawings are often not available.
On-Board was able to determine precisely what the client required in the Tune-Up documents to create a sufficient assessment for the City.
Keys to Success
On-Board's personnel, willing to visit the site multiple times and get up into the ceiling to measure the existing beams specifically for this task, was the key to the success of this project.
On-Board's willingness to visit the site and gather this information allowed for a more efficient project completion.
